SAVANNA LEIGH

Hello! My name is Savanna and I am from the Virgin Islands. I love surfing, scuba diving and anything involving the beach. While relaxing, I enjoy blogging <3

Trust me, you'll want these items...

The stakes are high if you overlook just one essential item for the beach, you run the chance of having to interrupt your ultimate beach day for a run to the nearest store or back to the house—or put a halt to your entire day.

Feel free to use my beach packing list to help you pack everything you will need for a great trip! This beach packing list includes all the essentials you need to enjoy some fun in the sun.

One of my favorite hobbies is chilling by the pool or beach. Whether you’re a person who likes to lug around your summer must-haves and beach items, an adequately collected beach bag is essential in promising you’ll have a fabulous beach escape.

Now that summer has arrived, here are some recommendations on what not to forget when you go out to enjoy the sand and sun. Keep this list near next time you prepare for the beach!

These are my beach bag must-haves:

CUTE SUIT

You’re going to the beach so obviously the number one item you need is a swimsuit! Whether you prefer bikinis or one-pieces, there are tons of options at a variety of price points out there!

SUNSCREEN & TANNING LOTION

Skin care and safety is the most critical item. As sun rays can be damaging, never forget to pack your sunblock! I opt for sunscreen in at least 30 SPF and remember to apply every 2 hours. I recommend ordering some online before leaving the house as you’ll pay high prices for low-quality sunblocks once you’re at your beach destination. We highly recommend getting an eco-friendly sunscreen that does not contain harmful chemicals.
* Use your tanning lotion in moderation!

READING MATERIAL

I like to read on days when I just feel like sunbathing and relaxing. For relaxing days at the beach, a good read is a must! An assortment of reading materials is essential – I like to mix it up with fashion and science magazines.

SUNGLASSES

I personally can’t even go outside without sunglasses. Sunglasses not only protect your eyes from the bright rays, but the perfect shades add a flair of style at the beach. Even on cloudy days at the beach, sunglasses are a must!

MASK OR GOGGLES

If you’re into snorkeling, then pick up some fins and a snorkel, so you don’t get stuck paying to rent one. Or, if you’re staying a resort or hotel on your vacation check to see if they have free equipment you can use!

WATER BOTTLE & SNACKS

No one wants an afternoon headache after a fantastic day! Having water is crucial to keep you hydrated while being under the sun all day.
Healthy snacks go hand in hand with having a beach-ready body, so I leave the cookies and soda at home and instead pack healthy snacks like apples and wheat chips.

HAIR TIE & LEAVE IN CONDITIONER

Hair ties are essential for hot summer days when you want to get your hair up!
Also, after a long day at the beach, I love to use conditioner. My hair gets knotted so easily after swimming in the water or having it blow around on the windy beach. Using conditioner decreases the number of split ends I'll end up getting. It also reduces the number of knots I’ll fight later in the shower haha.

TOWEL

The bigger the better! One thing that you really can’t go to the beach without is a towel. Everyone needs a good towel to dry off after a swim or lay down in the sand.

HAT

Attention pale people with burn-prone skin! A hat is a necessity to keep the sun from your face; you can go with a big floppy straw hat, a cool fedora or just a baseball cap.
