Hello, beauties! Detoxification is about resting, purifying and nourishing the body from the inside out.

So you’re looking to detox?!

I love detoxing, and after doing so, I feel better mentally and physically. Our bodies can become overwhelmed due to the volume of toxins exposed in the environment by way of water, air, food, pharmaceuticals and other drugs.

A detox plan can help the body's natural cleansing method by resting the organs through fasting, stimulating the liver to drive toxins from the body, and promoting elimination through the intestines, kidneys, and skin. Also detoxing can help to improve the circulation of the blood, and refueling the body with healthy nutrients.

By eliminating toxins, then nourishing your body with healthy nutrients, detoxifying can help protect you from disease and renew your ability to maintain optimum health through a range of methods including yoga, exercise and more. There are a few easy changes that you can make today to kick your body into detox mood fast.

Read on to learn six easy ways to detox your body in 24 hours or less.

Binge On Sleep

Sleep deprivation is unfortunately all too common as we put this off in the interest of getting other things done.

Giving yourself a good night's rest is one of the best ways to detox your body and reset. Sleep has been connected to weight loss, reduced cortisol levels and stress, and improved overall health.

The best part about rest is that it takes no effort! My advice is to make sure the temperature of your room is cool, and give yourself a good time block to snooze. Stick to a standard bedtime that allows you to get at least seven hours of sleep nightly.

Sufficient rest will help reduce stress and inflammation so your body can function its best. When you get 7-8 hours of sleep each night, you give your body a chance to rest and recuperate.

Sleep is a meaningful way that your body rebuilds and prepares for the activities that you have ahead the next day.

It’s imperative to rest and take care of yourself in this manner not only to function correctly but to keep the dangerous and harmful substances out as well.

Have A Smoothie or Juice Daily

I love to start my day with a fresh smoothie.

Someone should strive to eat three or more servings of vegetables and two or more servings of fresh fruit every day at a minimum but ideally a total of eight to ten servings a day. Include lots of greens such as kale, spinach, and cilantro. Fruit, vegetables, and herbs contain enzymes that aid digestion and improve nutrient absorption. Some examples include lettuce, broccoli, bell peppers, carrots, green beans, squash, lettuce, artichokes, kale, spinach, swiss chard, blueberries, grapes, oranges, and strawberries.

People with certain digestive conditions may benefit from vegetables that are higher in soluble fiber such as carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, potatoes, beets, parsnips, rutabagas, and turnips.

Here is a delicious smoothie recipe to help you get your fresh fruit and vegetables for the day.

Green Smoothie

• 1 cup kale or collard greens firmly packed, stems removed, coarsely chopped

• 1 apple, coarsely chopped

• 1 banana.

• 1/2 cup loosely packed fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves

Combine kale, apple, banana, parsley, and 2 1/4 cups water in a blender; blend until smooth.

If the mixture is too thick, add a little more water.

Big Glass Of Water In The AM

A big glass of water helps flush out the toxins and alkalizes the body. Feel free to add fruits into the smoothie and make it even healthier!

People should also have a big glass of water right before bed. When you think about it, while our bodies are asleep, we go seven or more hours without any hydration.

Don’t forget to drink plenty of water throughout the day to continue flushing out the toxins. Hydrating will help your kidneys flush out toxins.

Feel free to add lemon to your H2O for a hit of electrolytes. Water is essential for optimal digestive function yet most of us don’t drink enough. It is especially important to drink enough fluids when increasing your fiber intake (from fruit, vegetables, grains, and seeds).

Yoga & Exercise

Make time for at least a 30-minute yoga or exercise session.

If you have a hectic day, take a break once an hour, even if only for five minutes, to stretch and move around. Doing so will decrease fatigue, get your blood flowing through the muscles, and get your heart rate up, burning calories.

Also, exercising helps you sweat, and sweating helps release toxins through your skin. You can sweat in a sauna too so that your body can eliminate waste through perspiration. Sweating helps you detox by boosting circulation throughout the body.

What’s more, exercise is known to help you feel less stressed, happier, and more energized. Talk about a win-win.

Regular exercise encourages circulation in the blood and lymph system. Doing so will also enhance digestion, reduce tension, lubricate joints, and strengthen your body.

It's a proven fact that people who exercise regularly have far fewer total toxins in their systems.

Detox Tea

One word: Tea.

Detox teas help the body detoxify and clear out toxins. Not only is tea full of antioxidants, but it also hydrates you and fills you up.

Detox teas can also be beneficial; use ginger, lemon, mint or dandelion teas to make your detox tea. This means you will be less likely to overeat or eat the wrong things. Detox drinks help to boost energy, cleanse the liver, aid weight loss, reduce inflammation and promote skin health.

Detox drinks are great for cleansing the body of toxins that have you experiencing digestive issues, weakness, bloating, nausea, mood swings, and skin issues.

I must add this in if you’re trying to detox, don’t drink alcohol. If you're serious about detoxing quickly, lay off the stuff. Alcohol will dehydrate and fatigue you.

Eliminate Additives And Preservatives In Your Diet

Rather than turning to prepackaged foods, you want to opt for whole foods that come from the earth and are natural.

When you look to packaged foods for convenience, they are generally loaded with additives and preservatives. Though you may be getting fewer calories and fat with these foods, their manmade ingredients are wreaking havoc on your body. Any type of packaged food, whether it seems healthy or not, is made with additives and preservatives of some sort.

Just like pesticides, these can and will build up in your intestines as toxins over time. Get rid of the unhealthy packaged foods that are loaded with fat, but take it one step further.

Just because a food appears to be healthy or “diet ready” doesn’t mean that it’s good for you. If it’s loaded down with additives, preservatives, chemicals, or ingredients that you can’t pronounce, that directly translates to toxins in your digestive system.

Get rid of them, and you begin to cleanse your body immediately!
