Home is where the palm trees are! I sure do love the beach, I mean, who doesn’t?! Life's a beach, or so they say, and that's a saying that applies to me. There are so many reasons why I love the beach and so just writing about the beach adventures makes me want to grab my beach bag right now! Can you see your next beach day coming or are you hoping that it’ll be soon?
Here’s a beach day from me with a few recommendations along the way!
On a perfect day…..

9:06 AM, SMOOTHIE
Consuming the daily recommendations of fruits and vegetables can be a challenge. Blending a couple of servings of each into a smoothie helps ensure you meet your body’s daily nutritional needs. Another plus is that smoothies are so tasty and easy to make!
My typical smoothie consists of:
1/2 apple
1/2 banana
4 strawberries
A handful of blueberries
Ice
A splash of water or coconut water

10:58 AM, HEAD TO THE BEACH
I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t like the beach! The beach typically means vacations, rest, swimming, sun and all that jazz - and such things usually bring joy to everyone. My home is about 5 minutes to the closest beach. So really its just a hop, skip and a jump to paradise. The breeze in your hair, sun in your face and the waves giving a calming effect. Also, soaking up that sun is necessary for our bodies to function. Vitamin D has a key purpose in developing healthy bones.

11:34 AM, LAY DOWN & READ
Once arriving, I take my initial photos and then put my phone away and detach from the technology world we live in. In today’s society, we are always on some type of electronic device. It turns out that cell phones and laptops don’t mix well with water or sand. The beach is a great place to take a break from the screens, which helps in clearing that mental clutter. The only thing you should worry about is the waves breaking shoreline, the seagulls in the distance, the wind lightly blowing, and the sun shining down on you.

1:25 PM, SNORKEL & SWIM
The temperature is about 85 degrees Fahrenheit with a breeze, so of course, I plan on getting in the water at some time. Not to mention, the minerals and salt in the ocean water soothe aching joints. Did you know that just an hour of swimming can burn up to 410 calories? Pretty cool! The beach is not just a spot for swimming or sunbathing. You can do a lot of exciting things here. A fun way to swim at the beach is to snorkel, which is one of my favorite things to do at the beach. Once returning to your towel on shore, don’t forget to reapply sunscreen!

4:08 PM, HOME
After I get home, I think it’s essential to tend to your skin and hair in the aftermath of a sunny beach day.
Here are some of my tips for a post-beach beauty routine:
Face
Wash your face well after a day at the beach. Once sunscreen has served its purpose, it’s essential to get it off your face quickly, so it doesn’t clog your pores, along with residual sweat, saltwater, and sand that’s probably stuck there, too. Moisturize with a light lotion, nothing too heavy. Skin gets dehydrated in the wind and sun, so it’s important to add moisture back in.
Body
Take a cool shower or bath after returning from the beach. Scrub thoroughly with a washcloth or body brush to get rid of caked layers of sunscreen, sweat, and sand.
Hair
Hair doesn’t show the effects of a lot of sun as quickly as skin, but it defiantly suffers. Enjoy the salty, post-beach hair look as long as you want, but eventually, you’ll have to wash it out. Make sure to use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner!
6:52 PM, WATCH THE SUNSET
In the afternoon, I love to enjoy drinking cold water and eating fruits like fresh berries and watermelon that contain antioxidants and high water levels. While doing that, I often enjoy watching the sunset.
And repeat
