5 Easy Smoothie Recipes

5 Fruit and Veggie Smoothies: A refreshing and energizing smoothie for each day of the work week! 
I love having a smoothie every morning and sometimes in the afternoon.

 

To me, smoothies always taste like a dessert so I enjoy making them and enjoying them.

 

Also,I find it to be a simple and comforting way to integrate antioxidants, immune boosters, fruit, and greens first thing in the morning.

Tropical Smoothie

This is my ultimate go to smoothie on a hot summer day!

Ingredients

  • a splash of coconut milk

  • 1/2 banana

  • 1/2 cup of pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)

  • 3 or 4 strawberries (fresh or frozen)

  • a handful of ice 

  • 1 teaspoon of honey

Mix all of the yummy ingredients together in a blender until smooth.

Raspberry Strawberry Fruit Smoothie

This is the kind of smoothie that could totally pass as a dessert. It’s bright vibrant color is so inviting on any day. The combination of apple juice and frozen raspberries and strawberries creates an almost sorbet like smoothie. It’s a delicious treat. 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple juice

  • a splash of coconut water

  • 1 cup raspberries, frozen (or add ice)

  • 1/2 cup strawberries, frozen (or add ice)

If green smoothies are too much for you, this super delicious smoothie is an excellent starting point. Made with a combination of banana and half of a papaya, this smoothie is so colorful and satisfying.

  • 1 cup coconut water

  • 1 banana

  • 1/2 papaya

  • Handful of ice 

Banana Papaya Smoothie

Banana Mango Smoothie

This is the perfect introduction to a yummy yet simple smoothie. The sweetness of bananas and apple juice is the perfect blend! 

  • 1/2 banana

  • 1 cup mango chunks, frozen (or add ice)

  • a splash of coconut water

  • 1/2 cup apple juice

Green Machine Smoothie

Try a green smoothie! This smoothie will totally make you feel like hulk after you drink it, and it tastes sweet too. 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups spinach

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 cup mango

  • 1 cup pineapple

  • 2 bananas

To Make Your Smoothie Thicker or Thinner

Everyone has different preferences on the consistency of their smoothies.

 

If you prefer a thinner consistency, you can add a handful of ice cubes, some skim or almond milk or even a bit of water to any of these recipes.

 

If you want to thicken up any of these smoothies, try adding a frozen banana or a spoonful or two of cooked oatmeal or dry oats. Using any of the healthy add-ins will also usually result in a thicker smoothie.

 

To sweeten any of these smoothies, you can add a teaspoon of organic honey, agave nectar or 1/2 of a banana.
