My Five Minute Makeup Routine

Ah, the ever so famous 5-minute makeup look.

Some days I simply do not have the energy, time or even the will to work on a full face of make up and I’m sure you can relate.

Mornings are a touchy subject for a lot of people. They're either too busy or too exhausting.

Many women don't leave themselves enough time during the day to spend on themselves, let alone to do their makeup!

In an effort to keep myself from looking like the walking dead however I have a quick and simple routine for putting on a minimal amount of makeup and still looking presentable.

I give credit to all of the ladies, and some men, who spend more than 5-10 minutes doing their make up daily!

However, here’s our objective: glowing skin, plush lashes, and a vibrant lip—in five steps.

I realize Summer is over but this makeup looks for every season, all year round, so I hope you enjoy it and give it a try!

Step 1, Foundation

Personally, I put on a very light amount of foundation, especially living in south Florida!

Just a few drops of liquid foundation onto my brush tends to do the trick.

Step 2, Concealer

As far as I’m concerned, it would be criminal for someone not to have concealer somewhere in their make up routine.

If you don’t like wearing liquid or powder foundation but want to look a little more awake, then I recommend applying a few dabs of concealer under the eyes.

I use concealer under my eyes just about every day. When I’m in a major rush, I always make sure to put on concealer.

I also use concealer on problem areas, the bridge on my nose, and in my t-bone region. The last two spots help with brightening up my face, a cheat way of using highlighter.

Step 4, Mascara

Another step I hardly ever skip is mascara.

Applying a few swipes of mascara is so fast and easy, and I do it every day even if I am not wearing on any other makeup.

Even just one swipe onto the eyelashes helps me feel so much better!

Step 3, Setting Powder

If I put on liquid foundation, I always put on setting power to keep my face from looking greasy! Setting powder is super quick and very efficient for keeping my make up on all day.

Step 5, Lips

I must admit that I am not a big lip person but still prefer something on there for a bit of fun color.

However, I love wearing tinted lip balm instead of lipstick. *Burts Bees are my go-to lip balms.

I’ve had my fair share of practice over the years when it comes to applying makeup in a hurry.

If you’re new to this whole ‘5-minute makeup look,’ don’t worry it takes some time to realize you can ditch the bronzer, eyeshadow, and eyeliner for everyday looks. As they say, practice makes perfect!
